❓ Frequently asked questions
How do I tell whether I have MMI 3G?
MMI 3G systems in the A4/A5/Q5 usually have a 6.5" or 7" screen with an MMI controller (rotary dial) on the centre console. If you have navigation and the menu shows "MMI" on start-up, it is most likely MMI 3G.
Does it work with both facelift and pre-facelift models?
Yes. The decoder works with every A4 (B8), A5 and Q5 fitted with MMI 3G - both pre-facelift (2009-2012) and facelift (2012-2016) versions.
Can I fit the decoder myself?
Yes, installation is Plug & Play. You simply remove the infotainment module, connect the decoder to the OEM connector and refit everything. Detailed instructions are provided.
