How do I tell whether I have PCM 4.0?

PCM 4.0 appears in Porsche models from 2017 onwards. It has a larger touchscreen (10.9" in the Panamera/Cayenne) and a modern tiled menu. Send your VIN for a free check.

Why would I need a decoder when PCM 4.0 already has CarPlay?

Factory PCM 4.0 supports wired CarPlay only and has no Android Auto. The decoder adds wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto without removing any factory function.
