Toyota CarPlay retrofit: Touch 2 and Entune 2.0

Published:

Toyota is the outlier in this catalogue, and in a good way: one module covers the whole range.

Where BMW needs five and Audi six, every Toyota from 2014 onwards with Touch 2 or Entune takes the same part. At €189 it is also the cheapest retrofit module we sell.

Which cars

RAV4, Corolla, Camry, C-HR, Hilux, Land Cruiser 150 and 200, Prius, Auris, Highlander — 2014 onwards, fitted with Touch 2, Touch 2 Go or Entune.

Toyota Touch 2 / Entune module — €189

Do you have Touch 2?

Touch 2 is Toyota's standard touchscreen system from 2014, usually 7 or 8 inches. Touch 2 Go is the same thing with navigation added. Entune is the equivalent on cars specified for other markets.

All three take the same module, which removes most of the guesswork. What matters is only:

  • You have a touchscreen of 7" or 8", integrated into the dashboard → compatible
  • You have physical buttons and a small monochrome display, no touchscreen → not compatible, there is nothing to insert a module behind
  • Your car is a 2021+ model with the newer system → send us the VIN; the newest generation is a different architecture

What about Lexus?

Lexus uses Remote Touch and EMV, which are different systems with different connectors, and we do not currently stock a module for Lexus.

If you drive a Lexus, email us the VIN anyway — availability changes and we will tell you if something comes in. But as of today the honest answer is no.

What stays and what changes

Kept: the factory touchscreen and its interface, radio, Bluetooth, navigation where fitted, reversing camera, parking sensors, steering wheel controls, JBL premium audio.

Added: wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Google Maps and Waze on the factory screen, Spotify through the factory speakers, Siri and Google Assistant.

Toyota's factory navigation on these cars is generally the weakest part of the package — dated maps, no live traffic. This is one of the clearest upgrades in the range.

Common questions

Does JBL audio still work properly?
Yes. Sound runs through the factory amplifier and speakers at full quality.

Does the reversing camera keep working?
Yes. Select reverse and the screen switches automatically.

My Corolla already has CarPlay — do I need this?
Newer Toyotas do ship with CarPlay, wired. If yours does, you do not need a retrofit module; you need a wireless adapter, which we do not stock. We would rather say that than sell you a €189 module you have no use for.

Can I fit it myself?
Yes. Toyota head units come out easily — 30–45 minutes with basic tools. Illustrated instructions included.

How long is the warranty?
24 months.

Not sure?

Send your VIN to info@oemcarplay.com and we will confirm whether your car has Touch 2, Touch 2 Go or Entune, and whether the module fits. Free, usually within 30 minutes.
